Skills in Solasta: Crown of the Magister are talents that determine how proficient your character is at performing and passing different tasks. Skills are usually categorized into two groups, active and passive. Active Skills are usually used during exploration or in battle, while passive skills are additional buffs or effects that are added to the player or party's different stats, all skills roll a 20 sided dice. What are Skills in Solasta?
Skills are more specific abilities that fall under a specific Ability Score from Abilities. These are more specific skills that are used during Skill checks that occur when interacting with other characters or items in the game that require these skills. An example below is the first Skill on the list, Atheletics, which derives from the Strength Ability. A skill check may occur when a character attempts to climb, jump or swim. Your Ability Score in strength will affect your odds at a successful roll.

Abilities and Skills in Solasta
Since these skills are parts of the larger Abilities, it may be important to learn about each of the 6 Abilities available. Characters will each have a set of Ability Scores, and depending on their Classes, will also have a set of Abilites that will be important for the selected class. This will then affect which Skills they will be proficient in. It is best to consider a balance when creating a party, in order to have different characters have strength in different skills and abilities for different types of interactions in the game.
