Shadow of the Past is a Secondary Quest in Solasta: Crown of the Magister. Quests are different tasks and missions that a player can acquire and partake in throughout the game, quests are usually unlocked through the main campaign, during a series of events, or are given by certain NPCs. Completing a quest also grants various rewards that can aid the player throughout their journey.

Shadow of the Past Objectives

GO TO THE GALLIVAN EMBASSY

• Lord Belmont threatened a member of your party. Reconnect with your past and resolve this problem by talking to an acquaintance at Gallivan Embassy, near the Legacy Council hall. 

INFILTRATE THE NEW EMPIRE EMBASSY

• Find the secret entrance to the New Empire Embassy and sneak inside.

• TALK TO DALIAT (OPTIONAL)
• Daliat can help you get rid of Belmont, so talk to him and offer to make a deal. 
• KILL THE TRAITORS (OPTIONAL)
• You have agreed to eliminate a few of Daliat's enemies in exchange for his help with Belmont. Go to the traitors' hideout and take them out!

Shadow of the Past Walkthrough

GO TO THE GALLIVAN EMBASSY

• Fast travel to the Legacy Council hall from Sunblaze Court
• From the front entrance of the Legacy Council hall, travel towards the right side and turn left at the corner. You shall see the Gallivan Embassy Guard at the end. 
• Speak with the guard to begin the cutscene. She will lead you into the Embassy to talk to the senior deputy. 

TALK TO DALIAT (OPTIONAL)

• Travel to Lane Ends and talk to Daliat. 
• He will offer to help you with Belmont in exchange for your help in eliminating a few of his enemies. 
  • KILL THE TRAITORS (OPTIONAL)

INFILTRATE THE NEW EMPIRE EMBASSY

• Travel to the Gravekeep's Cask and locate the suspicious sewer hole near it. Proceed to climb down. 
• This will lead you into the New Empire Embassy. Cautiously proceed forward and make sure not to get spotted by the guards. 
• Turn right at the first corner, and continue onwards up the staircase. Turn right again at the second and the third corner to enter the room in the middle.
• Turn right once you have entered the room, and walk to the end to interact with the shelf to sneakily switch out the documents. Collect any loots from chests on the way.
• Exit the room from the same door you entered from, and turn left and immediately left again to exit the Embassy. 
• Wait for the quest to update on the next day to receive the cue for your next course of action (you may rent a room at the inn to speed up this process)

RETURN TO THE RESIDENCE

• Return to the entrance off the Residence at Sunblaze Court and speak to Bradford Ravensworth to complete the quest. 

How to obtain Shadow of the Past

• This quest is available once you complete Objective 3: VISIT THE RESIDENCE (speaking to Bradford Ravensworth at Sunblaze Court) of the Main Quest, "Path to Glory"
