Martial Weapons in Solasta: Crown of the Magister is a piece of equipment that is used to inflict damage against hostile characters such as Enemies and Bosses. Weapons are usually categorized into different types that suit each playable class, each weapon possesses its own stats, bonuses, and effects. Weapons are usually obtained as rewards from completing quests, purchased from merchants, looted from various locations, or are dropped by Enemies or Bosses. You can find detailed information on its location and properties on each individual page linked below.
What kind of Weapons can you find in Solasta?
Weapons are categorized as Simple and Martial weapons and consist of Melee and Ranged Weapons. These weapons can cause different damaging effects on opponents and receivers of attacks that vary. The most common damage dealt by weapons is Bludgeoning, Piercing and Slashing. Additional effects can be found on the Damage Types page. This includes fire, cold, lightning, acid, psychic, necrotic, radiant, and poison. When Choosing a Weapon, players can consider each character's strengths and proficiencies. Weapon proficiencies add bonuses to attack rolls when the weapon is equipped. Some weapons may not even be compatible with some characters without the required proficiency.
What do Proficiencies with a Weapon do?
Proficiencies with a Weapon lets a character wield it and add Proficiency Bonus to Attack Rolls of each attack made with this weapon, which are dice rolls against the target's Armor Class to determine whether an attack hits or misses. Not to confuse with Damage Rolls which determine how much damage does an attack deal. Unlike in SRD 5.1 rules which the game is based on, in Solasta: Crown of the Magister a character can't wield a weapon unless being proficient with it. Most proficiencies with weapons are granted by Classes during character creation, but some can also be gained from Races and Subraces, Backgrounds, Subclasses, and Feats.
How to get Weapons in Solasta?
Aside from the Weapons obtained as starting equipment, weapons in Solasta can be either found, looted from Enemies, purchased or crafted. Players may encounter Merchant NPCs and Vendors such as Gorim Ironsoot. Merchants that man a General Store for Adventurer's may have some weapons available for purchase. Aligning with the vendor's Factions may even earn you a better deal for these weapons. Other than purchasing them, they can be looted from enemies after battle or found in hidden highlighted areas as you progress through the main campaigns or the different quests in the game. Recipes can also be found throughout the maps that will allow you to craft the specific weapon.
Weapon Enchantments
Crafting: Crafted Weapons can also be known as enchanted weapons which may require a Manacalon Rosary and Arcana. Finding Primed weapons will allow you to craft enchanted weapons with the required ingredients. These will require a specific Crafting DC and will each have their own duration to craft.
