Gem Quest: The Monastery is a Main Quest in Solasta: Crown of the Magister. Quests are different tasks and missions that a player can acquire and partake in throughout the game, quests are usually unlocked through the main campaign, during a series of events, or are given by certain NPCs. Completing a quest also grants various rewards that can aid the player throughout their journey.

- Escort Kythaela to Coarann and use every opportunity to help her recover her memories
The Oracle
- While traveling with Kythaela, you found the ruins of a Manacalon oracle. She seemed to remember the place. Search it for any information about the Crown - but be careful, as orcs seem to have settled close by.

Gem Quest: The Monastery Walkthrough
This quest begins after completing the Quest Gem Quest: The Dark Castle. Northwest of Caer Cyflen is another Possible Gem location (Timarian Ruins). Travel to the next destination and explore the Ruins. You will eventually come across a quick battle sequence. Complete the sequence and head down to fight another set of goblins.
- There will be a crate in the area containing Primed Greatsword, Tirmarian Master Smith's Memoirs, Crafting Doomblade Greatsword, Crafting Lightbringer Greatsword, and the Crafting Greatsword of Acuteness.
- Another chest will be concealed in a cliff. There will be a moveable boulder just below a struct built to the side of a cliff. Move it and climb to the top of the rock platform and there will be another chest. It will contain a Magnificent Shortbow, Scroll of Fog Cloud, Warhammer, and other raw ingredients.
Head to the center towards the Mausoleum. There will be a short cutscene when you reach the area.
- In the mausoleum are there will be a rock boulder that will sit in front of one of the stone arch structures. Move it to loot the sack behind. It will have a Magnificent Morning Star, Holy Symbol (Amulet), and other materials.
Inspect the Structure
Approach the structure to eventually begin a battle against the minotaur
- There will be a chest in the area next to a ruin wall. There will be an Imperial Mage Report, Rapier, and other small items.
Wait for the Moon
You waited until the moon was in the sky and the magical stones were illuminated. You need to solve the magical puzzle while the moon is shining on the stones.
Wait till evening to solve the slab puzzle and reveal the symbols. Interact with the middle then right slabs and it will unlock the mausoleum. Kythaela will be inside and will have trouble remembering the master she is talking about.
Solve the Puzzle
Down in the ancient mausoleum, you have found an elf woman name Kythaela, who seems to have been asleep since before the Cataclysm. Her memories seem confused, but she knows the Crown and might be able to lead you to one of the gems.
Find the Copper Vale of Remembrance
Travel to Coparann just north of the Timarian Ruins. While traveling with Kythaela, you came across a Manacalon ruin that she remembered, but it's not the place she's looking for.
The Oracle
- Ashes of Manacalon
On the way to Coparann, Kythaela asks to stop over at some ruins. Progress forward across the bridge to trigger a cutscene.
- Avoid the chest in the water and go across to avoid a cutscene. Successfully looting the chest will reward you with a Diamond of Elai.
After the cutscene, The Oracle objective is complete and they suggest continuing to Coparann. You visited an old Imperial Oracle but didn't find anything useful about the Crown, so you went on your way. Kythaela seems very confused. Will she ever return to her former self?
The Prison
- Dungeons of Manacalon
There will be a short cutscene here again. You will be able to loot Crafting the Burden in the chest near the end of the corridor. Exit the area to continue.
Caravan - Explore the Area
- Unexpected Encounter - You came across a caravan, a rare thing in these desolate lands
Look for a man named Galar and enter a battle sequence. Completing this will reward you with access to his items. A cutscene will begin and he will ask for a favor to deliver a message to Sergeant Nikannen in Coparann. Have a rest in this area before continuing your journey to Coparann.
Coparann - Return Belongings / Deliver Letter (Optional)
Arriving here will trigger a few cutscenes upon entry.
Talk to the Ceannard
Enter through the gate area. Deliver the letter to Wilf then continue looking for Ceannard in the building next to the tavern. This location will also be indicated by the glowing dot on your minimap. Entering this area will trigger the next cutscene.
Find the First / Second / Third / Fouth / Fifth Clue
Follow the exclamation point markers to collect the clues
First Clue: Talk to the maid in the tavern for the first clue
Second Clue: The barkeep and the tiefling woman are having a conversation. Approach them for the second clue.
Third Clue: Approach the pair near the market stalls not far from the tavern. The woman in the blue dress and the tiefling are having a conversation. Approach them for the third clue.
Fourth Clue: Two citizens will be having a conversation tucked away behind a building. Approach them to hear the fourth clue. They will be Just across the colorful market stalls where you can find the fifth clue when you speak to Wilf.
Fifth Clue: Speak to Wilf standing by the colorful market stalls.
Find Sergeant Nikannen
Speaking to him will trigger a cutscene. He will be located near the entrance. Follow the indicator on the minimap for his location.
Meet the Baron
One of the locked guarded gates will now be available for entry. This will be just east of the entrance. Enter the area to speak with him.
Go back to Sergeant Nikannen
He will near the short set of stairs around the corner. Approach him to trigger a cutscene. He will suggest going back tomorrow
Take a Long Rest
Go to the Throne Room
Coming back the next day will bring you to another cutscene conversation with the Baron. This will bring you down to the basement
Go to the Basement
- New Waypoint Added: Prison
Make your way to the center area of the basement. Explore the darkened rooms. Eventually, a cutscene will be triggered. The "Baron" reveals the Baron in the prison.
Survive the Ambush
Complete the battle sequence to continue
Free the Real Baron
Approach and interact with the Baron's prison cell to continue and trigger another cutscene.
Find Kythaela's Belongings
There will be a set of familiar puzzle slabs in the area. Solve the slabs to complete the symbol. To solve the puzzle, interact with the first, third then fourth slabs to fully light it and reveal a door. Kythaela's spellbook will be there and a cutscene will begin.
- Loot the chest to obtain Beautiful Boots. Primed Longsword and a Primed Longbow.
Go to the Throne Room / Check the Imperial Door (optional)
Interact with the set of doors to complete the optional objective.
Return to the throne room to trigger the cutscene with the real Baron. Rest and then travel to the next location to continue looking for the Gem
Find the Gem's Location
Travel to Master's Tower from your world map
Explore the Surroundings
Clear the path ahead and once you reach the gravestone, take the left path until you trigger a battle sequence.
Continue north. Push the pillars in your path to make your way through. Keep going until you reach a large stone circular platform. You will come across more puzzle slabs and a short cutscene will start.
Wait for the Moon
Take a rest while waiting for the moon
Find a Way to Enter the Tower
Solve the puzzle until the symbol on the wall is fully lit. To solve the puzzle, interact with the third then first slab on the left side. A short cutscene will show the arrival of the Brood of Blood and her minions and a battle sequence will begin. Complete the battle so you can continue to light the remaining slab set for the doors to open
Enter the Tower
Enter through the doors, and they will shut behind you triggering a short cutscene.
Find the Gem
- There will be a chest in the corner of the room. Loot it before proceeding
Stand on the center circle and use it to teleport.
- New Waypoint Added: Major Gate
Explore the rooms and loot items located in the corners. You will be able to find the Elven Wars in the corner of the last room. Check the study to loot some recipes.
- Loot the bookshelves to obtain Breastplate of Deflection, Chainmail of Robustness, Half Plate of Robustness, Viper's Bite, The Long Night, Empress Garb Chain Shirt, Leather Armour of Survival, and Armour of Flame Dancing
Head down to the long bridge and enter through the last set of doors to trigger a cutscene with the dragon. This will take you into a battle sequence with Razan.
Kill Razan
Complete the sequence to continue the cutscene and speak to the dragon. This will complete the Quest.
Ending this Quest will start the next quest, Path to Glory.
